Description of Responsibilities
President - The president presides at all regular and special meetings of the club and the board of directors. He appoints all standing and special committees and in the vacancy of the board of directors, shall, with the approval of the board, fill such vacancy by appointment until the next regular election of the club. He is an ex officio member of all committees. Vice President - The vice president succeeds the office of president in the event of the removal of the latter for whatever cause, and, in the absence of the president, shall preside at all meetings of the club and of the board. Secretary - The secretary maintains all club records. He keeps minutes of all meetings of the club and board of directors. Treasurer - The treasurer has custody of all club funds, maintains all necessary records, and deposits all such funds in a bank approved by the board of directors. He makes all disbursements under procedures determined by the board of directors. He reports the club's financial status at each meeting of the club, and holds all records available for inspection by any club member. Club Committee - Responsible for attendance, membership, programs, fellowship, and public relations. Some responsibilities include: planning interesting programs for each meeting, recruiting new members and keeping old ones, and publicizing the club's activities throughout the community and the Rotary world. Finance Committee - Develops ways to finance club activities, while keeping costs and dues low and ensuring that the club remains self-supporting. Ways to make money include: sales of all kinds, events, and working for pay at odd jobs. Service Committee - Initiates one project each year that serves either the community or the school. International Understanding Committee - Undertakes one project each year to promote peace and understanding.
